The grand celebration starts on the day of the wrath Yatra festival. Ahmedabad has been celebrated this festival for more than 130 years. The festival is dedicated to the three Great deity\u2019s Krishna as Lord Jagannath, Balarama as Balabhadra and Subhadra who is a sister of Krishna.<\/p>\n<p>The sacred procession starts on the day of Rath Yatra from <a href=\"\/jagannath-temple-ahmedabad\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Jagannath temple in Jamalpur area in Ahmedabad<\/a> and passes a 14 kilometer route through an entire city sensitive area such as Kalupur, Prem Darwaja, Delhi Chakla, Shahpur Darwaza, Dariyapur and Shahpur which are mostly Muslim area. The major attraction of the Rath Yatra is the highly decorated elephants. Up to 14 elephants are used for the Rath Yatra procession and all important rituals performed during the celebration. Up to 20 elephants, many trucks, various many religious groups, singing troupes, seven cars and three main decorated deity\u2019s chariots take part in the procession.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>How to Reach<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>By Air<\/strong>: The nearest Airport is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel airport Ahmedabad which is approximately 12 km away from The Jagannath temple, Jamalpur.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Rail<\/strong>: The nearest station is Kalupur. Ahmedabad is a well connected with all Major cities and State of India. There are many trains available to reach to Ahmedabad.<\/p>\n<p><strong>By Bus<\/strong>: The nearest bus stand is Kalupur. There are many private and public transportation is available to reach to Ahmedabad in Gujarat. You can hire a taxi or an Auto or can use a Bus to reach Jamalpur Locality.<\/p>\n<p>The Rath Yatra festival contains many other interesting things such as participation of Akhada Sadhus and Mahants which attracts more people to celebrate. The celebration remains till the evening and ends returning to the Jamalpur Jagannath Temple again. The Rath Yatra festival is celebrated with the huge police force and many safety arrangements. Entire procession has been analyzed by latest technology into a control room to prevent any unwanted crime.<\/p>\n<p>This is done to keep the safety of the devotee\u2019s crowd during procreation. During the celebration, hundreds of KG Prasad used during the festival and water fountains being sprayed on the devotees. Hundreds of resident people filled streets of Ahmedabad from early morning to witness the grand Rath Yatra procession. The Ahmedabad Rath Yatra is second largest festival after the Puri.
