Falmouth:<\/strong> This busy Cornish port is one of the deepest natural harbours in Europe and features a bustling town centre and golden sandy beaches. Explore Pendennis Castle or take a boat trip up the Carnon River.<\/p>\n Brighton:<\/strong> A short train ride from London, this bohemian town is full of things to see and do, from shops and caf\u00e9s, to ice cream on the pebbly beaches. Brighton is also surrounded by the beautiful Sussex countryside and some great coastal scenery. Get the kids walking shoes on and explore!<\/p>\n Yorkshire Moors:<\/strong> Experience the great outdoors with a holiday on the Yorkshire moors. Rent a cottage and visit the local towns and villages, not to mention the rugged beauty of the moors themselves.<\/p>\n Paris:<\/strong> Exploring landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and l Arc de Triomphe will fascinate and excite your children, while you can soak up the unique Parisian atmosphere. The combination of shops, museums, famous architecture and restaurants will give you and your family a holiday you\u2019ll never forget!<\/p>\n Amsterdam:<\/strong> Holland\u2019s famous city of canals and the pretty countryside that surrounds it is an excellent family destination. Take a ferry to the Hook of Holland and drive up through the country, passing the taking in the windmills and fields of flowers along the way. Once in Amsterdam, you\u2019ll not be short of things to do, from visiting the Royal Palace of Amsterdam in Dam Square, Anne Frank\u2019s house or simply hiring a bike and taking a guided tour of the city.<\/p>\n Dublin:<\/strong> The capital of the Republic of Ireland is a great family destination, with many attractions for the children. Take an open-topped bus tour around the city or let them have fun at the child-friendly Dublin Children\u2019s Museum. If they haven\u2019t exhausted themselves by the afternoon, take the kids to St Stephens Green where you can relax and they can play to their hearts content.<\/p>\n Whether you\u2019re travelling by car, train, aero planes or ferries, the children will eventually tire of being strapped into the seat with nothing to do on a long journey. Remember to pack comics, colouring-in books, colouring pencils and reading books to keep them amused. Some ferries even have a supervised play-area with lots of amusements to keep the little ones happy, so keep an eye out.<\/p>\n Staying in accommodation near the coast? Kids love the beach, playing in the sand and paddling in the sea until the sun goes down. If the weather is too cold to play in the water (which it most likely will be if you are holidaying in Britain\u2026), the children can still enjoy seaside staples like ice cream and fish and chips, plus all the fun of the great British pier amusements. If you are abroad, then they\u2019ll be able to discover and enjoy the local customs and food.<\/p>\n Take the children to your local museum and stimulate their minds. Every museum is different, from the Natural History museum in London and the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, Cornwall to the Rembrandt Museum in Amsterdam and the GAA Museum in Dublin. A museum visit is an especially good idea for those rainy afternoons when the kids are restless!<\/p>\n The best ideas are often the simplest ones. If your little ones are bouncing off the walls of the hotel room, take them down to the local park. Most towns and cities will often have at least one and many of them are popular with the locals. Take some food for a picnic and let them play while you enjoy some sunshine and fresh air.
