Days 2, 4 and 6 are long road days of 5 to 8 hours. If you travel with elderly parents, ask us to add a night.
The package starts and ends in Ahmedabad. Our representative meets you at Ahmedabad airport or Ahmedabad railway station, and the same points are used for the drop on Day 6.

Our tour representative meets you at Ahmedabad railway station or airport and takes you to the hotel. After check-in, the city tour covers ISKCON Temple, Vaishno Devi Temple, Adalaj Stepwell and Gandhi Ashram (Sabarmati Ashram).
In the evening, drive to Swaminarayan Akshardham in Gandhinagar, 21 km from the airport and 32 km from Ahmedabad railway station, for the Sat-Chit-Anand water show. It starts after sunset (currently 7:30 pm) and runs 45 minutes. Show tickets are ₹100 per adult. Night stay in Ahmedabad.
How much of Day 1 you cover depends on when you land. With a late arrival, some city stops drop out, so share your flight or train time when you book. Akshardham is closed on Mondays and does not allow mobile phones inside the complex; the cloakroom is free. Parts of Gandhi Ashram are under redevelopment.
After breakfast, drive to the royal city of Jamnagar. Check in, rest for a while, then head out for Lakhota Lake, Lakhota Museum and Bala Hanuman Temple.
A visit to Bala Hanuman Temple is an experience in itself. The chanting of Ram Dhun here has continued day and night since 1 August 1964, and the temple is listed in the Guinness Book of Records for it. Back to the hotel for the night stay.
Lakhota Museum is open 1 pm to 9 pm from March to October and 12 noon to 8 pm from November to February. It is closed on Wednesdays, the 2nd and 4th Saturdays and government holidays, and entry is ₹25 per person.
Next day, drive to Dwarka, one of the Char Dham and Sapta Puri, and check in at the hotel.
Dwarkadhish Temple closes in the afternoon, roughly 1 pm to 5 pm. That window goes to the sites outside town: Nageshwar Jyotirlinga (about 17 km away), Gopi Talav, Bet Dwarka and Rukmini Mandir. Bet Dwarka is about 30 km from Dwarka and has had road access since February 2024 over Sudarshan Setu, a 2.32 km bridge from Okha.
In the evening, visit Gomti Ghat and Dwarkadhish Temple for darshan and the evening aarti. Back to the hotel for the night stay.
After breakfast, leave for Somnath along the coastal highway. At Porbandar, stop at Sudama Temple and Kirti Mandir, which stands beside the house where Mahatma Gandhi was born. With an early start from Dwarka, you check in at Somnath by mid-afternoon.
Before the 7 pm aarti, visit Bhalka Tirth, Triveni Sangam (where the Hiran, Kapila and Saraswati rivers meet the sea) and Geeta Mandir. If the drive runs late, these move to the next morning; Day 5's drive is short. After the aarti, the light and sound show runs from 8 pm to 9 pm, except in the monsoon. Night stay in Somnath.
Mobile phones, cameras and smartwatches are not allowed inside Somnath Temple; the cloakroom lockers and footwear counter are free. Wheelchairs and golf carts for senior citizens wait at the main gate, and there is a lift inside the temple premises.
After breakfast, drive inland to Sasan Gir, the entry point for Gir National Park. The distance is 45 to 65 km depending on the road; the Shree Somnath Trust lists it as 65 km. Check in at the hotel.
In the afternoon, go on the Gir Jungle Safari if you hold a permit for the 3 pm to 6 pm slot (4 pm to 7 pm from March to mid-June). The safari costs extra and runs only from 16 October to 15 June. Devalia Safari Park is a separate, fenced safari area with its own permits; it is closed every Wednesday. Night stay in Sasan Gir.
After breakfast, drive back to Ahmedabad for your drop at the railway station or airport, where our representative sees you off. The drive takes 7 to 8 hours plus meal stops.
Without a morning safari, book your onward flight or train for after 8 pm. If you take the 6:30 am safari, you will not leave Sasan much before 10:30 am. In that case, book a late-night departure or add a night in Ahmedabad.
Ans. Six days covers the main temples and one Gir safari slot, but three of those days are 5 to 8 hours on the road. With elderly parents, add a night in Dwarka or Rajkot.
Ans. November to February. The Gir Jungle Safari runs from 16 October to 15 June, and the month-by-month view is in the best time section above.
Ans. Dwarkadhish Temple, Bet Dwarka, Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, Somnath Temple with its evening aarti, Triveni Sangam and Bhalka Tirth, and a jungle safari in Gir National Park.
Ans. Go to Dwarka first via Jamnagar, follow the coast to Somnath, and end at Sasan Gir. There is no backtracking that way. Dwarka to Somnath is about 230 to 240 km and Somnath to Sasan Gir another 45 to 65 km, so Dwarka to Gir is roughly 280 to 300 km in all.
Ans. It starts at INR 22,580 per person on double sharing with Standard hotels. Deluxe is INR 24,610 and Luxury INR 28,120 per person. GST of 5% is extra, and the Gir safari is paid separately.
Ans. No. You book the permit on girlion.gujarat.gov.in and pay the gypsy and guide at Sasan. For Indian visitors in a 6-seater jeep, the total is about ₹4,700 to ₹5,000 on weekdays and ₹4,900 to ₹5,200 on weekends and festival days, depending on the guide category.
Ans. No. Lions roam freely in the forest, and no permit comes with a sighting promise. Booking an afternoon slot and the next morning slot gives you two chances.
Ans. Yes, with some planning. Days 2, 4 and 6 have 5 to 8 hours in the car, and the walk up from Gomti Ghat to Dwarkadhish has steps. Somnath Temple keeps wheelchairs and golf carts at the main gate and has a lift inside. An extra night on the way helps most.
Ans. By road, over Sudarshan Setu, the 2.32 km bridge from Okha that opened in February 2024. Bet Dwarka is about 30 km from Dwarka town.
Ans. 8 pm to 9 pm, after the 7 pm evening aarti, according to the Shree Somnath Trust. It is not held in the monsoon or rainy season.
Ans. Comfortable walking shoes that slip on and off easily, modest clothes for temples, a cap and sunscreen, earth-coloured clothes and a light jacket for winter safari mornings, regular medicines and original photo ID. Keep some cash for the gypsy and guide at Sasan.
Ans. Try a Kathiyawadi thali with bajra rotla on the highway, buy Bandhani (tie-dye) fabric in Jamnagar, and spend a sunset at Shivrajpur Beach near Dwarka if you add a night there.
Ans. Yes. Both have an airport and a railway station, and starting there shortens the first two days. The rest of the itinerary stays the same.
